Description

Enåbacken is a residential facility for people with dementia. The facility is located in central Rättvik next to a pine forest with the slalom slope as a backdrop. Enåbacken has 45 resident places on three floors distributed across five wards. All wards have wonderful outdoor areas with opportunities for planting and outdoor activities. The facility also has a shared inner courtyard with opportunities for outdoor activities and communal togetherness.

We work towards the goal of providing good care and support with the right quality, adapted to each individual's needs and dementia condition. We strive to apply working methods that contribute to a well-functioning and dignified daily life for our residents as much as possible.

We are currently looking for 6 assistant nurses, of which two are temporary positions until 31/8 and four are permanent positions.

Job Description

Our work group includes assistant nurses, care assistants, nursing assistants, registered nurses, administrative assistants, and unit managers. We also have physiotherapists and occupational therapists attached to the facility. There is good cooperation between the different professions at Enåbacken.

You will work with standard tasks for assistant nurses. The work involves providing good care and support to people with dementia. You need to be flexible regarding working hours as the work is scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We work towards close cooperation between the wards.

We place great importance on activities and contributing to a meaningful daily life for the residents.

The role of an assistant nurse at Enåbacken includes contact with relatives, and you will be the primary contact person for assigned residents. You are also responsible for assigned proxy roles. Your engagement and personality are important assets in the daily work.

As an assistant nurse, you are also responsible for documentation, follow-up, and reporting on changes in the health status of the care recipient.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are an educated assistant nurse or have equivalent competence as assessed by the employer. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. It is an asset if you have experience working with BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) and/or are a BPSD administrator. It is also an asset if you have education in dementia and/or low-arousal approach. For us, the focus on a good attitude towards dementia diseases is decisive. As an assistant nurse with us, you need to have good insight into approach and attitude regarding dementia.

In your assignment, you are expected to take responsibility for your tasks and proxy assignments assigned to you in the role of assistant nurse. You need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing as oral communication is a decisive tool in the treatment of people with dementia, as well as for being able to document in writing.

In dementia care, we need to ensure a calm environment around the residents and have good patience to prevent anxiety. Therefore, we see that you need to be a calm and patient person.

We encounter challenges daily and face difficult assignments, so it is important that you have an optimistic approach to be able to take on challenges with ease and a willingness to always do the best in every individual situation. We are a team around the residents, and it is of great importance that everyone in the team can cooperate well and that we all have a non-competitive attitude towards each other.

Furthermore, we see that you are flexible to be able to adapt to the residents' daily form and will, as well as to be able to adapt to the facility's varying needs.

It is an asset if you have experience working in dementia care.
