Mora is a town close to nature and mountains, inviting outdoor activities and an active leisure year-round. Mora hospital is one of Region Dalarna's two acute hospitals. Approximately 80,000 residents live in the catchment area, but outdoor facilities in Sälen and Idre, as well as large sporting events in both summer and winter, attract many tourists. At Mora hospital, you will find the charm of a small hospital while it also serves as a trauma hospital. The Operation Anesthesia ICU clinic consists of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Central Surgery (C-op), Day Surgery Mora (DKM), and Sterile Technology. Approximately 1,500 patients are cared for in the ICU each year, of which about 500 are ICU patients. In C-op and DKM, a total of about 4,500-5,000 surgeries are performed each year, primarily in surgery and orthopedics, but also some urology. Sterile Technology handles goods from the operating departments, care departments, and outpatient clinics at the hospital, as well as from all health centers in Region Dalarna. We have a close collaboration with other clinics and also assist with external assignments at the hospital, such as anesthesia/sedation in outpatient clinics, emergency teams, and higher competence during secondary transport to another hospital.

At the day surgery, elective surgery is performed in two operating rooms, and at central surgery, primarily elective activities are conducted in five operating rooms during the day, in addition to emergency activities with an operating team available 24/7, all year round. As a specialist nurse in Central Surgery and the Day Surgery department, you will take care of pre- and post-operative patients in our recovery unit. Before surgery, your work involves participating in preparations for anesthesia, such as establishing IV access, various nerve blocks, etc. Postoperatively, your role involves caring for the newly operated patient, monitoring vital parameters immediately after surgery, and ensuring they feel as comfortable as possible by preventing/treating pain, nausea, etc.

The position involves rotation between the postoperative department in central surgery and the postoperative department in day surgery, varying in extent depending on needs. The postoperative operations are conducted Monday to Friday and involve work both day and evening with a 40-hour workweek. The employment is a temporary position from January 26, 2026, to August 31, 2026.

Our requirements are that you:

• are a licensed nurse with specialist training in anesthesia or intensive care.
• have several years of experience working in inpatient care.

It is an advantage if you have:

• previous experience working in a recovery unit.
• training in postoperative care.

We are looking for someone with an interest in pre- and postoperative care, who is resilient, flexible, solution-oriented, and organizes their work effectively. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment, are engaged, and contribute to a good working atmosphere. You also have a good command of spoken and written Swedish and can work in a digital medical record management system. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and previous references.
