Your Workplace

This position is located in the department of Traffic-related Technology and Development.

In addition to project managers, there are also roles such as system administrators, systems technicians, system developers, and analysts in the department. Here, all system and technology issues related to public transport are managed.

Among the issues handled by the department are feasibility studies, procurement, new development, and management. Within public transport, there are systems such as ticketing and payment, planning, booking, e-services, and case management. Both software and hardware are managed by the department.

This is a role in a small, dynamic organization where you will have significant responsibility and the opportunity to make an impact. You will work on exciting and varied projects where technical solutions are developed in close collaboration with colleagues and the business.

You will be part of an engaged project team where collaboration and participation are at the center. There are good opportunities for professional development in a work environment that values the entire team's competence and offers attractive conditions.

Your Responsibilities

As a project manager with us, you will lead IT projects that contribute to better and simpler journeys for our customers. You will work with technical solutions used directly in public transport, such as ticket and payment systems, as well as with internal systems that support planning, case management, and service. Regardless of the project's focus, the goal is to create solutions that make everyday life smoother for travelers and contribute to a safe and accessible public transport system.

You will work independently on technical issues and act as a responsive bridge between clients, the business, and suppliers. In a small and dedicated project organization, you will lead all aspects of the project and create good conditions for deliveries to meet time, budget, and quality.

The work is conducted closely with both project teams and subcontractors, focusing on clear communication, collaboration, and shared success. Many projects begin with an exploratory phase, where environmental monitoring, supplier dialogues (RFI), internal workshops, and discussions help you, together with colleagues, shape the project's direction and goals.

Your Tasks Include:

  • Leading IT projects from planning to execution and follow-up.
  • Independently managing both project-related and technical issues and communicating them between clients, technical experts, business specialists, and suppliers.
  • Coordinating and communicating with project teams and external parties, including subcontractors.
  • Identifying risks, solving problems, and ensuring that the project maintains high quality.
  • Contributing technical expertise and facilitating collaboration in a small, agile organization.

Your Skills and Competencies

You have a college or university degree in a relevant field, such as IT, computer science, or engineering, or equivalent work experience. You should have at least three years of experience leading IT projects, preferably within one of the public transport system areas.

You have experience collaborating with subcontractors and external parties, where you are a strong communicator who can manage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. It is important to us that you thrive in our culture and have a good understanding of technical issues.

We also place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a person, you are self-driven and flexible, able to quickly adapt to changes and new conditions. Your good collaboration skills contribute to positive and effective teamwork, while you maintain a holistic view that ensures quality and sustainability in your work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Knowledge of specific IT systems within public transport, such as ticketing or booking systems or hardware onboard vehicles.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA).
  • Experience in change management within IT projects.
