As of January 1, 2026, we are the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. Our vision is "Together for a strong civil defense".

Do you want to make a difference and work with us for a safer society? Then you might be our next colleague!

We are looking for a junior full-stack developer for the Digitalization and IT units.

The units are responsible for the development and management of the digital workplace and create the conditions for tomorrow's digitalization. This includes user support, business development, system development, process mapping, hardware management, IT infrastructure, applications, and systems for our users across the agency.

The agency is in an expansion phase where digitalization and IT development are prioritized areas. Do you want to kickstart your career as a system developer while contributing to something that makes a difference? Your responsibilities and tasks
In the role of system developer with us, we want you to be solution-focused, curious, enjoy problem-solving, and have good communication skills. You are a team player who sees collaboration as natural and wants to take responsibility together with others to develop and succeed in our deliveries. Achieving set goals and delivering with good quality is important to you. You have the ability to drive yourself forward by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively, and you can also change direction if goals change. You are technology-driven and have a strong interest in programming, requirements specification, and systematization. You easily create and maintain relationships. Together with the team, other colleagues, and the business, you are responsible for everything from requirements to deployment.

Your tasks include, among other things:

You will collaborate with other system developers, architects, management leaders, project managers, and external consultants, keeping the users' needs in focus. You will follow technological developments, continuously develop your skills, and collaborate with the business, which gives you the opportunity to develop and grow both in technology and in our working methods and processes.

Your knowledge and competencies

  • is at the beginning of their IT career and has recently obtained a relevant degree from a university or a relevant vocational education, for example in web/system development or similar.
  • has relevant experience in recent system development work
  • has education or other experience in development with related programming languages and frameworks, such as C#.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • is structured and can express themselves pedagogically and clearly in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have experience in:

  • working in the public sector
  • mobile app development with MAUI
  • building automation, and experience of working according to a CI/CD flow
  • working in an organization with high security requirements, with a good understanding of IT security principles

In all our work, both internally and externally, we must act according to the state value framework. As all employees and leaders at our agency, you are expected to work in accordance with our approaches. The approaches apply in everyday life, crises, and war and should be seen as a whole where they build on each other; collaborative – proactive – action-oriented.

About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your place of employment will be Karlstad, and travel may occur in the position.
