This position is located in the department of Traffic-related Technology and Development.

In addition to the management leader, there are also roles such as project manager, system technician, system developer, and analyst in the department. Here, all system and technology issues related to public transport are managed.

Among the issues the department handles are feasibility studies, procurement, new development, ongoing management, and incident management. Within public transport, there are systems for ticketing and payment, planning, booking, e-services, and processing. Both software and hardware are managed by the department.

The role involves close collaboration with the traffic department, traffic contractors, and external suppliers. You will have a varied everyday life where you both build long-term strategies and actively work with practical issues such as updates, operations, and support. Work primarily takes place during the day, but some evening or weekend work may occur a few times a year in connection with planned updates or changes.

Your Responsibilities

As the management leader for our traffic systems at Värmlandstrafik, you will be a key person in ensuring that our systems operate safely and efficiently – both today and in the future. You always keep the traveler in focus and understand that well-functioning traffic systems are crucial for travelers to have a reliable, safe, and smooth journey every day.

You are responsible for both strategic and operational management and drive the development of traffic systems such as Hogia (real-time), Rebus (traffic planning), and Skjuts (school transport planning). Furthermore, you are also responsible for corresponding software in selected hardware in the buses, such as gateways and display systems in collaboration with system technicians and traffic contractors. In the long term, you will be a partner to the management leader for the ticket and payment system to ensure collaboration and redundancy.

Strategic Management:

• Plan and lead the long-term development and lifecycle of the systems.
• Participate in procurements, requirements work, and contract follow-up.
• Ensure that the systems support the organization's goals and future needs and call for management meetings.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive development initiatives.
• Coordinate supplier contacts and follow up on agreed deliveries.

Operational Management:

• Perform and coordinate system updates, changes, and configurations.
• Handle issues related to user support, incidents, and troubleshooting.
• Work with operational issues and quality assurance of data and functions.
• Contribute to information security and continuity planning.
• Be a central contact point for the organization regarding system-related issues.

Your Knowledge and Skills

You have an academic degree in IT, such as computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience that we consider comparable. You have experience in system management or similar roles, as well as technical understanding and interest in complex systems. You speak and write fluently in both Swedish and English.
