About the position:

As a museum host at Skokloster Castle, you will be the castle's face to the public and play a central role in creating memorable experiences for our visitors. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for providing a professional and engaging reception while contributing to conveying our cultural history in an inspiring way.

Your responsibilities:

As a museum host, you will perform a variety of tasks where flexibility is important. The main responsibilities include:

Showing and guiding visitors through the castle during both booked and regular tours with different themes, and conveying knowledge about the castle's cultural history.
Preparing and conducting activities and programs for different target groups, both within the castle, in our outdoor environment, and digitally.
Hosting duties in the castle: guiding visitors, ensuring safety, staffing the entrance and shop, and conducting visitor surveys and basic housekeeping.
Assisting tasks related to various events.

About you:

We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people and creating a positive experience for visitors. You have the ability to adapt your approach to the needs of different individuals and groups, and you create a good atmosphere in collaboration with your colleagues. You are also independent and enjoy taking responsibility for your work. Keeping order and tidiness is a given for you. Personal qualities such as service mindset, flexibility, and confidence are important to us.

Qualifications:

We are looking for various competencies for our museum host group, but we would prefer that you have:

Studies in the humanities and/or pedagogy.
Previous experience in similar tasks, preferably in museum hosting.
A pronounced service and safety mindset.
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English; additional languages are a merit.

Employment conditions:

Part-time, 12% with monthly salary.
Scheduled working hours: Wednesdays from 09:00 to 12:00 and every other Thursday.
Start date as soon as possible, but no earlier than 2025-03-01.
Temporary position until 2025-12-31.
Opportunity for additional hours, especially during the summer and on evenings and weekends throughout the rest of the year.
