IT Technician for 3rd-Line Technical Support

About the Position

IT Technical Support plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees within Örebro Municipality have access to a digital workplace consisting of computers, mobile phones, tablets, as well as access to printers and networks. We also assist users with access and permissions. The aim is for the municipality's employees to have a well-functioning digital workplace, with fast and efficient support. We operate based on a ticket management chain where orders and fault reports are received by a common municipal support that escalates IT-related issues to our technical support.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • independently provide support for products and services within the IT and telecommunications area
  • plan and execute installations in consultation with the requester and continuously provide information about delivery times and any deviations
  • read and convey information based on new and current guidelines and technical documentation
  • share knowledge with users with the goal of preventing them from needing support for the same issue again
  • participate in IT projects and actively work to achieve the project's set goals

About the Workplace

Our existence is becoming more and more digital; smart technology and innovations fundamentally change people's needs and behaviors. It should be easy to live, reside, and operate in Örebro. Therefore, more and more of the municipal services are also being digitized – to the benefit of citizens, entrepreneurs, and visitors. Digitalization means a more efficient, smarter, and more open administration.

Our department has the overall responsibility to lead and coordinate the municipality's digitalization development, and we are responsible for information supply, information security, IT architecture, IT operations, IT support, digital workplace, and telephony. The department is divided into five units: the unit for assignment management, Service, support and process support, the development unit, IT operations, and the unit for strategy, architecture, and transformation. In the role of IT Technician, you will belong to the Service, support, and process support unit, which consists of 24 employees, and our workplace is located in Stadsbyggnadshus 2.

Qualifications

To thrive with us, you should have a good sense of service and customer interest combined with a strong interest in IT technology and problem-solving. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy sharing your expertise with both colleagues and employees in the municipality's operations. We also see that you have the ability to understand others' perspectives and have a good understanding of how others absorb knowledge. As a person, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • post-secondary education (KY or equivalent) with an IT focus, or education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Driving license B
  • work experience in similar tasks
  • experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows 11

Desirable:

  • basic knowledge of Active Directory
  • experience working according to ITIL processes
  • experience with print functions (Cirrato, MyQ)
  • experience working with SCCM, Intune, Software Center, AD management, and GPOs
