Project Description
The position is for a postdoctoral researcher in the field of ethnomethodological conversation analysis (EMCA) within the project CAI-BLUE – Nordic Perspectives on Collaborative AI for Blue-collar Work. The research project aims to understand how AI agents can be effectively integrated into collaborative work environments in professions involving practical work, based on Nordic values regarding work life and equality, as well as a justice-oriented perspective. The project also emphasizes responsible AI design, participatory work methods, and professional well-being.
Job Responsibilities
You will conduct field studies in Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Ethnographic research focusing on understanding underlying work practices, social interactions, and multilingual hierarchical constellations will be combined with interventions using methods from human-computer interaction (HCI) to both design and evaluate new technical support systems for this type of work environment.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the position of postdoctoral researcher, a completed doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a relevant doctoral degree is required. The degree must be obtained by the time the employment decision is made.
Assessment Criteria
It is advantageous if the doctoral degree or equivalent has been obtained no more than three years before the application deadline. If there are special reasons, an earlier obtained degree may also be considered advantageous. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, trust assignments within trade unions, service in the total defense, or other similar circumstances, as well as clinical service or relevant service/assignments for the subject area.
In the appointment process, particular importance will be attached to scientific competence. The ability to conduct ethnomethodological conversation analysis (EMCA) across multiple languages and existing contacts with a wide range of Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises in professions involving practical work is highly meritorious.
About the Position
The position is full-time and is permanent, but for at least two years and at most three years, with the possibility of extension if there are special reasons. Start date by agreement.
