Economic Strategist at Region Värmland

We are looking for an experienced and process-oriented economist who wants to contribute to the work of driving and further developing processes within Region Värmland's economic management.

Your Workplace

The Planning and Analysis unit is part of Region Värmland's planning and finance department, which has approximately 100 employees. The unit's mission is to develop and lead the region's processes, models, and tools for planning and follow-up.

We are also responsible for producing region-wide follow-ups and analyses, and our work is directed both at the political organization and at the administration. The mission aims to create good conditions for effective economic and operational management, and we have a normative function within the processes we are responsible for.

Planning and Analysis is a small unit where we work closely together. It is therefore important that we enjoy working together and strive for continuous development. Since each employee has unique tasks, it is required that everyone takes great responsibility for their assignment and role in the organization, while also being prepared to participate in the unit's common tasks and help their colleagues when needed.

In many tasks, we collaborate with other functions within both finance and other areas of expertise, and we often have leading roles in workgroups and development projects.

Your Tasks

As an economic strategist with us, you will work with both strategic and operational tasks to ensure efficiency and sustainability within our operations. The role will partially focus on Region Värmland's healthcare.

Your mission is to provide good decision support, meet information needs, and ensure that relevant processes are functioning well, are transparent, and are relevant. You will do this largely in collaboration with colleagues in various parts of the organization. A prerequisite for succeeding in the role is your ability to create and maintain good relationships in many different contexts.

The role may involve user-oriented system administration in one of the systems we use, such as Stratsys or Hypergene.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for someone with a degree in economics from a university/college and at least five years of experience in qualified roles within finance, preferably in a larger complex organization.

The position entails responsibility for overarching tasks, and it is important to understand how decisions and processes at a high level affect the region's operations. You are comfortable working in various system supports and have good knowledge of the different tools in the Office suite.

As a person, you are confident and have good knowledge of economic management. The position requires a high degree of independence and initiative, while it is also important that you enjoy collaborating with various people and groups. You have a good ability to see both the big picture and details, and you are communicative with the ability to convey knowledge and insights to others in a pedagogical manner.

You are self-driven, proactive, and have good experience in building and maintaining relationships. You have the ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly.

It is advantageous if you have experience in strategic planning and follow-up, process development, economic and operational management within the public sector. Experience in user-oriented system administration is a plus, especially if you have worked with any of our system supports Stratsys or Hypergene.
