Within Tyresö Municipality, all managers have been trained in Developmental Leadership, and training in Developmental Employee Participation has just begun for all employees, with continued work planned through 2026.

By organizing all activities related to community planning, urban development, and maintenance into a common Community Building Office, we strengthen the entire chain from initiation to operation.

The Geodata Unit is one of ten units in the Community Environment and Infrastructure Department, consisting of 10 employees. The unit maintains geographic information and manages the municipality's mapping system and geographic databases. We are currently undergoing exciting development within the digital community building process and have strong collaboration and knowledge exchange with the Södertörn municipalities.

We work with various types of measurement assignments and produce new construction maps and base maps. Other tasks include GIS analyses and the creation of different types of maps for planning, design, and visualization. Our clients include private individuals, other units, municipal departments, and companies.

About the Position

As a GIS Engineer with us, you will be an important part of a team that works on continuous improvements, driven by the desire to create efficient processes together and keeping an eye out for new applications for our services. As an engineer in the Geodata Unit, you will work on the development of our systems, web maps, and work methods. You are attentive to the needs of customers and colleagues and support them engagedly in their work. Through GIS collaboration Södertörn, cooperation and collaboration between the eight municipalities is a common and important part of everyday life, where we work with knowledge exchange, common work processes, and system management. Your role includes managing map data to be stored in the map database, producing various types of map products and GIS assignments. You will also be involved in the unit's work to further develop the open-source products that the municipality works with, such as Origo for web maps.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who has:

• a degree from a minimum two-year education with significant cartographic and GIS technical components,
• at least two years of experience in the industry and working with FME,
• technical competence in systems, databases, and data management,
• good data skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience in system administration,
• experience in map production,
• experience with SQL and databases,
• experience in programming with Python,
• knowledge of QGIS, Origo, ISYRoad (road data management), FME Flow, and Topodirekt.

As a person, you are self-driven, quality-conscious, and proactive. You work well with others and demonstrate good service.
