Technical Specialist in High Voltage Equipment

As a technical specialist, you have one of Sweden's most important jobs. Do you want to be part of a dynamic workplace where you and competent colleagues really make a difference for a sustainable and bright Sweden? Then this could be the job for you.

About the Position

In the role of technical specialist in high voltage equipment, you will primarily be responsible, together with other technical specialists in the field, for the technical requirements for, among other things, measuring transformers, disconnectors, circuit breakers, shunt capacitors, and surge arresters. The role also includes monitoring developments in the technical field.

The position will also include:

  • Support for management with condition assessments and failure investigations of primary equipment.
  • Support for projects for new or reconstruction of substations.
  • Review and updates of technical guidelines.

You will have the opportunity to develop within high voltage equipment from a facility owner's perspective and exchange experiences with colleagues who have worked in the industry for a long time.

We are in a technically interesting and exciting time where society demands safe energy deliveries while sustainability is in focus. One of the challenges is the insulation gas SF6, which is to be phased out and replaced with sustainable alternatives, where we, together with our suppliers, evaluate different options. In the job as a technical specialist, you have the opportunity to participate in the development of the sustainable grid.

As the content and responsibilities of the position can be adapted based on your background, we welcome both applicants with at least five years of experience and also those who are senior and have longer work experience.

You will belong to the Substation and Equipment unit, which consists of 10 employees. The unit is responsible for the technical design of substations and primary equipment in Svenska kraftnät's stations, and supports both management and project operations with specialist expertise in these areas. The unit is responsible for the technical guidelines in the above areas.
