As a school counselor, you are centrally employed in the child and student health services and in this position, you will be placed at Åsedaskolan with grades F-6 and 7–9. You will be part of a team with diverse experiences and different professional backgrounds that work together for the students' learning and health. The mission of the student health services is to support students in achieving educational goals with a focus on proactive and preventive work. By detecting early and thereby contributing to creating environments that promote students' learning, development, and health, we can achieve our goals. Together with the other school counselors, you will plan and work proactively and preventively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a counselor, you have an important role in the school and in the student health team; your mission includes carrying out psychosocial interventions at the school in the proactive and preventive work. You assist the school with expertise in social legislation and community resources and carry out student health work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The work includes collaboration with other professionals within student health, teachers, and guardians to promote and prevent a safe and supportive school environment for the student.

You may also provide some guidance and consultation to other school staff. It is important to collaborate with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), the police, and other external actors in your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education that the employer finds equivalent. Previous experience in student health and social work is considered an advantage. You are responsible and flexible, have a good ability to build relationships with children and young people. You have good collaboration skills, the ability to structure and plan, and can work independently.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

You need to have a driver's license and access to a car.
