The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS youth home Vemyra, located outside Sollefteå, receives school-age boys up to 16 years old with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and addiction.

Job Description

Would you like to take on a challenge with a unique assignment in an exciting environment and in a smaller context? At SiS youth home Vemyra, we run our own school in combination with treatment for young people placed in round-the-clock care. Collaboration between the school and the departments is crucial for how well we succeed in motivating the youth to turn a negative development into something that can provide better conditions for a good life. The school consists of a principal, teachers, study and career counselors, and special educators who collaboratively plan, teach, evaluate, and develop the educational work at the institution. There is also a student health team, and within the institution, we provide our own health care with a nurse, psychologist, and doctor.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Experience working as a teacher in craft and preferably art.
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language (spoken and written).
  • Basic computer skills and good computer proficiency.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working with youth in socially vulnerable situations.
  • Experience teaching in special education groups.
  • Experience working in compulsory care.
  • Knowledge of neuropsychiatry.

The position is a fixed-term employment on a full-time or part-time basis as agreed.
