Business Controller at Soya Group

Soya Group is a family-owned corporate group with roots dating back to 1934 when Olof Wallenius founded the first company, Rederi AB Soya. The word Soya has since continued to thrive, and today we have operations in shipping, real estate, water purification, and stud farms & agriculture. Sustainability and community benefit are central to us, and we are now looking for a Business Controller for our finance department in Södermalm, Stockholm.

You will primarily work with two of our businesses that are both in the startup phase – Wallenius Water Innovation and Oversea Fleet Support (if you are curious about what the companies do, more information is available further down ??). As a Business Controller, you will be a strategic partner to the management of each company and a key person in driving profitability and sustainable development. You will analyze business results, develop financial models and processes, and prepare decision-making materials.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate reports and key performance indicators
• Be responsible for outcome reporting, budgets, forecasts, and follow-up
• Conduct financial analyses and identify improvement opportunities
• Actively participate in strategic work and business cases
• Identify, evaluate, and follow up on projects and initiatives

You will work both in the businesses and at Soya Group's finance department, where you will be part of a team of ten controllers. “For me, it is important that the team feels good and has a sense of belonging while also developing,” says Sofia, Manager Group Control and your direct report.

To succeed in this role, you need to enjoy driving your own work and appreciate having many points of contact. Of course, you, like us, have a strong interest in sustainability issues. You also need:

• A degree in economics/finance
• Experience in accounting work and a previous controller role where you have worked with analysis and financial planning
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
