ABOUT THE POSITION
Topcon Scandinavia specializes in ophthalmology/optometry with a location in Mölndal. We are part of Topcon Corporation based in Tokyo, Japan, and our product mix includes one of the world's largest selections of precision instruments from a single manufacturer, within several product groups we are world-leading. The focus is on dialogue and optimizing problem-solving together with our customers, and this is where you come in.
We are now looking for an IT Support Technician where you will be a key person towards our customers, primarily focused on opticians. You will handle support via phone and perform installations and troubleshooting on-site, as part of our hardware team. The role requires you to be self-driven, proactive, and have a strong service mindset.

Our working hours are 7:50 AM - 4:30 PM (during the summer period 7:50 AM - 4:00 PM) and your introduction/internal training will primarily take place at our headquarters in Mölndal, as well as to some extent at our European office in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Tasks
The role involves installation and maintenance as well as ongoing customer support of PC-based systems in customers' network environments, both remotely and on-site. Installation and maintenance of hardware is also included.
The customers consist mainly of optical shops & chains, and you will have close collaboration with each customer's IT departments. The work involves travel within the country and overnight stays may occur. Since we also have a very extensive operation towards healthcare, work in this sector may occur.
Examples of job tasks:
- Receive support requests via phone and email.
- Assist customers with IT/instrument support remotely.
- Provide IT support to colleagues who are out performing installations at customer sites.
- Install and troubleshoot equipment on-site at customer locations.
- Assist colleagues at the local office with basic IT support.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
To succeed in the role, we believe you are self-driven and proactive, as parts of the work require personal responsibility. You are a cheerful, social, and open individual with a pronounced service mindset. Flexibility will also be a key word, as the position may sometimes involve inconvenient working hours and travel. To qualify for the position, you also have:
- Experience in providing technical support to customers or equivalent work.
- Experience in troubleshooting computers and software.
- Driver's license (B), as transport and travel are required in the position.
- Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working with medical technology equipment.
- Knowledge in SQL or information security work.
- Experience working with optometric or medical technology equipment.
