We are now looking for a biomedical analyst for the unit of Near Care and Pre-analysis, within the area of laboratory medicine, at the University Hospital in Örebro. As a member of the Near Care and Pre-analysis team, you will work alongside biomedical analysts, nurses, nursing assistants, and subject specialists. The unit includes several support functions of the VO laboratory medicine such as sample submission, IT, quality, and also patient- and customer-oriented activities such as sample collection, customer service, and PNA.

The laboratory operations in Region Örebro County is a regional clinic, which means a collective responsibility for the laboratory medical services conducted at the laboratories within the University Hospital in Örebro, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We run a broad operation within the fields of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasma exchange treatment, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. Over 300 people work here with routine diagnostics, research and development, and education.

Biomedical Analyst Near Care and Pre-analysis USÖ Job Responsibilities

The tasks are mainly located at the sample submission with placement at the sample collection when needed. At the sample submission, we handle samples that will be sent to clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology, as well as samples included in research and studies. The work is very varied, and it is important to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Collaboration with colleagues is crucial for how the day is shaped. In sample collection, we perform venous and capillary blood sampling and stress tests on both adults and children. We also assist with sample collection in departments and outpatient clinics at the hospital.
