Health and Medical Care Inspectors Wanted at IVO

Do you want to make a difference and contribute to safer healthcare and social services? The Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is growing and is now seeking health and medical care inspectors to develop state supervision and licensing.

About the Job

As a health and medical care inspector, you will investigate your own cases within the health and medical care sector. As an inspector, you always work from a user and patient perspective, with a supervisory mandate aimed at investigating, controlling, and setting requirements to contribute to better healthcare for individuals and various groups of people.

Your main tasks will include:

  • investigating cases concerning individual complaints about healthcare according to the Patient Safety Act.
  • communicating with stakeholders, healthcare personnel, and the public during investigations.
  • collaborating nationally with colleagues across the country.
  • participating in close and interdisciplinary collaborations.

We work together nationally, and you will have colleagues across the country. In your office, you will be part of a team with colleagues within the relevant case area. You will engage in close and interdisciplinary collaboration with inspectors, supervisory dentists, supervisory physicians, and decision-makers. In the long term, the content of your work may change to include other case areas.

The positions are permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, located in one of the following cities: Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm, or Örebro. Travel may occur as part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Swedish nursing license, or another Swedish professional license focused on health and medical care.
  • at least 3 years of experience working in primary care, somatic specialist care, psychiatric specialist care, or municipal health and medical care.
  • experience in analysis, investigation, quality, and/or development work.
  • excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • good knowledge of health and medical care legislation.
  • a valid driver's license (B).

To succeed in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and a high level of integrity. You have good judgment and feel secure in your professional role. You are proactive in driving your own cases and can identify what you need to do to move forward in your work.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • experience in public authority execution.
  • relevant further/specialist education.

Workplace Description

Placement is at one of our offices in Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm, or Örebro.

IVO contributes to safe healthcare and social services. The mission of the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is to contribute to a healthcare and social service that is safe, of good quality, and conducted in accordance with laws and other regulations through supervision and licensing.

The agency is characterized by a strong commitment and a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of health and medical care as well as social services in Sweden. We exist for the benefit of healthcare and social service users.

The agency has approximately 800 employees. The work of supervision is carried out at six regional departments across the country. The departments for licensing, analysis, planning, and communication, as well as operational support, are located in Stockholm, as is the office of the Director General.
