Assistant Nurse to the Medicine Department C3
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Medicine Department C3
Medicine C3 is a department in development.
We are about 30 employees; nurses and assistant nurses who care for patients with internal medical diseases. We work with the patient in focus, and many of our development projects aim to strengthen person-centered care, patient safety, and nursing within acute care.
We have 15 care places during the day/evening and 25 care places at night, as we share staffing with our neighboring department, Stroke.
For night work, additional night compensation is provided in addition to the contractual overtime compensation. Since the position includes day/evening/night shifts, the weekly working hours are shortened to 34.33 hours per week.
Here, we work in care teams consisting of a nurse and an assistant nurse, where each care team is responsible for five to six patients.
We offer a varied assignment where there is always something new to learn. We work with individualized introductions and skills development based on the needs of the organization. We strive for a climate where we share knowledge and learn from each other.
We are an engaged and care-oriented workgroup.
Your Responsibilities
As an assistant nurse in our department, you will be part of a care team with a nurse. Based on your different areas of responsibility, you will jointly ensure that the patient’s needs are met and ensure the care of acutely ill patients.
The assistant nurse is largely responsible for monitoring, checks, some sampling, and ensuring that the patient’s basic needs are met. Furthermore, as an assistant nurse, you have an important task of creating safety and well-being for our patients. Within the care team, you work proactively for good and safe care that is based on the individual.
Documentation is included, as well as registering and following up on measured values. As an assistant nurse, you are responsible for conducting a nursing round at least once per shift. You take responsibility and are independent in the tasks included in the assignment.
Who Are You?
You who are applying have assistant nurse training in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's competency requirements for protected professional titles. If you have experience working in acute care, it is an advantage.
You are either new or experienced, with a personal maturity that we consider a good foundation for working with people in acute care. Curiosity and the desire to develop are driving forces, and you never see yourself as fully trained.
Your ability to collaborate is good, and you appreciate being part of a whole while also being self-driven and responsible for the tasks within your assignment. You care for the individual, are attentive and empathetic. Flexibility is a prerequisite in an environment where things can change quickly. You are a good caregiver and a great colleague.
Selection for interviews takes place continuously during the application period.
Before a hiring decision, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
