What will you work with?

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the development of public health monitoring in Sweden. In this role, you will work with the agency's comprehensive monitoring system for good and equitable health. Your mission includes monitoring and analyzing indicators from various data sources. The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is also responsible for conveying target group-adapted knowledge within its area of responsibility through various channels. Your mission includes creating knowledge and insights that guide work towards health on equal terms – and conveying these in a target group-adapted manner through various channels to ensure that the knowledge reaches the right target groups and contributes to concrete actions.

As an investigator, you will also assist in the implementation of government assignments related to monitoring and evaluation in the public health policy area.

Additionally, other tasks as an investigator at the agency include preparing decision-making documents, handling referrals, and collaborating with both internal and external actors to drive issues forward.

The position is a 6-month temporary contract.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for employment:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as epidemiology, social sciences, public health science, or similar areas.
  • Documented several years of experience in investigative and development work within the public health field.
  • Experience in compiling and interpreting data from various sources necessary for the work with monitoring the national public health policy.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Experience in investigative and development work in a government agency or in a municipality and/or region.
  • Documented analytical skills, experience in independently compiling and interpreting data, preferably focusing on monitoring the health of the population.
  • Personal qualities such as good collaboration skills, being responsible and exercising self-leadership, being curious about new working methods, and having a good attitude. You find it easy to adopt a holistic perspective.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

What does the unit do?

The unit for public health reporting and evaluation is responsible for the overall monitoring of the public health policy goal and its target areas, as well as monitoring certain non-communicable diseases that are of particular importance for public health. This includes monitoring and analysis of indicators from various data sources. The unit is also responsible for conveying target group-adapted knowledge within its area of responsibility through various channels.

The unit's responsibilities include conducting follow-ups on health equity and the health status of different population groups. This includes a responsibility to monitor the national disability policy. The unit is also responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of public health policy initiatives. The unit must be prepared to lead and carry out government assignments related to monitoring and evaluation in the public health policy area.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a full-time temporary contract from 2026-03-01 to 2026-09-30.

As an employee at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be subject to military placement. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security screening will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
