School Coordinator for Placed Children and Youth

Welcome to us

We are now looking for a school coordinator for placed children and youth for the youth unit for a parental leave position, who wants to contribute to ensuring that every child and youth has the best possible conditions for a stable and successful school experience.

The youth unit is part of the operational area for children, youth, and families, which also includes the Reception Unit, Children's Unit, Child and Youth Unit, Family Support Unit, and Foster Care Unit. The operational area consists of a total of six units.

The unit consists of four groups; an investigation group, a placement team, a follow-up team, and a SIG team that works with norm-breaking behavior. We have just implemented an important organizational change that has brought management closer and made it more accessible. Together, we are now moving forward and helping to create a social service that is modern, characterized by high quality, and in line with the new social services act.

Your role

As a school coordinator with us, you will belong to the placement team, which consists of nine social workers and two school coordinators. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the child or youth, guardians, and the responsible social worker. You will coordinate issues related to the child's schooling and its conditions and actively contribute to the selection of placement options with a focus on the quality and continuity of the school. You will gain a good overview of the city's placement options and school environments and become an important knowledge bearer in the field. You will also be an important sounding board for the social workers and be available for the entire operational area. Travel is included in the position.

Your tasks will include

  • following up on schooling and coordinating school transfers
  • case management and knowledge dissemination within the unit
  • follow-up and documentation of your work
  • preparing and delivering presentations of various kinds.

We are a small but dedicated team that supports each other in everyday life. With us, you will have both freedom and support in your work, and we value laughing together even when the work is demanding. You will report directly to the unit manager.

Your skills and experience

We see that you have:

  • a degree in social work
  • current experience working in child and youth services in a coordinating role
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience of authority exercise
  • a B driver's license
