The Role of Chief Physician/Specialist Physician
In the role of chief physician or specialist physician in clinical chemistry, you will have a varied and developing assignment where you combine medical responsibility with both daily operations and long-term development work. You ensure reliable and accurate analysis results in clinical chemistry, autoimmunity, and human genetics, providing consultation to healthcare clinics regarding the choice of analyses, diagnostic strategies, and interpretation of results. The work involves active participation in quality work and method development, where you ensure that our processes comply with current standards, including ISO 15189. You will also educate and mentor residents, students, and colleagues and contribute to development projects as well as the implementation of new methods and working practices. On-call duties are included in the position.
Your Future Workplace
You will be part of Laboratory Medicine in Region Jönköping County, a regional joint operation located at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping, Högland Hospital in Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital. In clinical chemistry, we work with sample-based diagnostics to support healthcare throughout the region, conducting approximately four million analyses each year. The operation is accredited by Swedac and is characterized by close collaboration between various medical disciplines and professional groups. You will come to a modern and development-oriented environment with new equipment in general chemistry, immunochemistry, and coagulation, where competence, quality, and patient safety are always at the center.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license, specialist competence in clinical chemistry, and good knowledge of Swedish at least at C1 level. You have at least three years of experience as a specialist and are accustomed to working with method selection, validation, and verification of new analyses. We see that you have deep knowledge in clinical chemistry and good competence in areas such as autoimmunity, substance abuse analysis, human genetics, pharmacology, and drug analysis. Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation requirements, as well as basic knowledge of research methodology and statistics, is important for the role. Experience with mass spectrometry in clinical chemistry or capillary electrophoresis for serum proteins is an advantage.
