The Role of the Nurse

The Orthopedic Clinic is looking for summer substitutes for our ward A and for the outpatient clinic. In ward A, patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases requiring treatment are cared for, and this ward is open even during the summer. The clinic also has ward B where patients undergoing planned surgeries are cared for, but this ward is closed during the summer.

If you work as a summer nurse in ward A, you will be involved in medication management, documentation, and medical technology equipment. You will be responsible for nursing care, pre- and post-operative care, mobilization of patients, as well as care and monitoring of patients with epidural catheters, blocks, and patient-controlled pain management. Your working hours will be during the day, evening, and weekends.

In the orthopedic outpatient clinic, patients with pain in the musculoskeletal system, i.e., muscles, tendons, skeleton, and joints, are assessed. We also follow up patients being treated for fractures. As a summer worker in the orthopedic outpatient clinic, you will work with telephone advice and have your own wound care clinic, as well as perform other nursing tasks. Working hours are during weekdays.

The summer jobs are temporary full-time positions. We need summer substitute nurses from week 25-33. It is an advantage if you can work many of – or all – the weeks. A regional introduction will take place in addition to these weeks, and we appreciate if you also have the opportunity to shadow during the spring. You will receive pay even during the introduction and shadowing.

The Orthopedic Clinic at Ryhov County Hospital is Jönköping County's largest orthopedic clinic. We offer treatment, care, and rehabilitation for orthopedic diseases. The clinic is divided into general orthopedics and spine and neck surgery (neuro-orthopedic center). We strive for quality, competence, and respect in all interactions.

About 150 people work at the orthopedic clinic. Here, you will work in an exciting environment that is constantly evolving. Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or who will graduate as a nurse no later than June 2025.
