The Role of Regional Planner

You will be part of the Regional Planning team that works with strategic spatial planning, transport infrastructure, and development projects related to regional functional connections. You contribute with analyses, decision-making support, and collaboration processes that strengthen the county's long-term community development.
In this role, you will work on larger development projects such as the border rural project and the project for enhanced regional strategic planning, where you will contribute with planning expertise, analyses, and process management.

What You Will Work On

• Contribute to and apply statistical data in spatial analyses and strategic conclusions
• Prepare decision-making support and reports for projects, management, and committees
• Participate in and lead parts of projects, such as the border rural project and regional strategic planning
• Develop methods and approaches for regional community planning
• Conduct dialogues, workshops, and collaboration processes with municipalities, authorities, and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the implementation of the regional development strategy (RUS)

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.

Your Future Workplace

The Section for Energy & Community Building consists of about 20 employees who work with long-term sustainable development in energy, transport infrastructure, community planning, and business development. We are part of the Department for Regional Development, which leads and coordinates regional development work in Jönköping County.

Your Profile

You have a university degree in community planning, cultural geography, physical planning, development studies, or other education that provides equivalent competence.

We prefer that you have experience in community planning or regional development work, and that you have worked in contexts where collaboration, dialogue, and project work are included. Experience from municipalities, regions, government agencies, or consulting is an advantage. At the same time, we also welcome you who are at the beginning of your career if you have the right abilities and interest.

You have a good understanding of community planning and regional development. We prefer that you can work with geographical data and GIS at a basic to intermediate level and have the ability to interpret and use statistical decision-making support. You need to be able to formulate clear analyses in both speech and writing, and it is advantageous if you have an understanding of the connection between energy, climate, and community planning.

As a person, you are structured, communicative, collaborative, and comfortable in both independent work and dialogue with various stakeholders.
