School Nurse at Tegnérskolan and Brukets School

About the Position
As a school nurse at Tegnérskolan and Brukets School, you will be part of the schools' student health team together with counselors, special educators, and school management. In the role of school nurse, you will work at both schools while having the freedom to plan and drive your work based on the students' needs and within the given framework of the position. In your role as a school nurse, you will work together with the student health team and other staff to promote a good physical and psychosocial working environment for the students, as well as support the students' development towards educational goals. You will be part of the student health team and contribute with medical and public health expertise in student health work. Furthermore, you will work with health visits/health conversations according to the annual cycle that regulates the medical work of school nurses. You will also be part of a network of school nurses from Örebro Municipality with collegial support and ongoing professional development.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- be responsible for documentation in Prorenata according to the Health and Medical Care Act and the Patient Act
- be responsible for offering and performing vaccinations according to the national vaccination program and be able to take action in case of vaccination side effects
- provide information and medical advice in dialogue with students and guardians
- be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
- initiate and participate in development and quality work within the area of responsibility
About the Workplace
At Tegnérskolan and Brukets School, students from preschool class to grade three attend. Tegnérskolan is located by Tegnérlunden and currently has about 200 students and about 30 staff members. Brukets School is located in the Markbacken residential area in the western parts of Örebro and has about 140 students and about 25 staff members.

Qualifications
To fit as a school nurse with us, you are expected to be secure, stable, and engaged. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your work by structuring, prioritizing, and driving your processes forward. As a person, you are communicative and have an easy time listening and adapting your way of communicating based on the recipient while instilling trust. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You also have a good ability to create relationships and build trust with students, guardians, and colleagues. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with students, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements:
- licensed nurse with specialist training as a school nurse, district nurse, or pediatric nurse
Meritorious:
- experience working in digital journal systems, e.g., Prorenata Journal
- experience working as a school nurse
- experience working in a student health team
- experience and/or training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- competence in NPF
