The Department of Medicine and Geriatrics is the largest department at Karlskoga Hospital. The department includes outpatient clinics, dialysis and kidney clinics, physiological clinics, rehabilitation units, and medical administrative staff. The inpatient departments focus on the acute management of patients with stroke, heart diseases, and other acute internal medical conditions.

Karlskoga Hospital is one of the three acute hospitals in Region Örebro County. We who work at Karlskoga Hospital are proud of our hospital. At the Dialysis Clinic, nurses and nursing assistants work in teams with other professionals such as doctors, dietitians, physiotherapists, and social workers. We treat patients with chronic kidney failure who require hemodialysis.

The Dialysis Clinic is an outpatient clinic where we perform hemodialysis for patients with reduced or ceased kidney function. We have a total of 14 dialysis stations. Patients usually come here three times a week, with each treatment taking about four hours. We work within a highly specialized outpatient service where we use technical equipment in our daily work.

The operation runs during the day, Monday to Saturday, with evening shifts until 8:00 PM three days a week. We have a wish schedule. You will receive an individually tailored introduction period of about 10 weeks with two designated mentors to learn how to handle dialysis machines and treatment principles. We work in pairs in our patient groups.

Registered nurse. Previous experience in dialysis is an advantage. As a person, you are curious, flexible, and willing to develop. You can work both independently and in a team, are positive, and have a good attitude. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
