The ambulance service in Region Örebro County is divided into three different locations: Örebro, Karlskoga, and Lindesberg. We staff a total of 17 ambulances distributed across our three main stations with associated satellite stations.

The light care ambulance primarily handles planned transfers between healthcare facilities, where patients have certain care needs but do not require emergency medical care. In the role of nursing assistant in the light care ambulance, you are responsible for ensuring safe and secure transport between healthcare facilities and other care locations. The transports can be long, so we are looking for someone who enjoys driving and feels comfortable behind the wheel. You will always work together with a nurse and be part of a supportive team where we value collaboration and respect.

We prefer that you have nursing education with a focus on health and medical care. Courses in Emergency Medical Care 200 points (previously Medical Care 200 points) and Medicine 2 100 points (previously Medical Basic Course 100 points and Nursing 150 points) are desirable. Alternatively, equivalent older education or the nursing program with graduation after 2022. We also consider relevant work experience in the assessment of your qualifications. To assess employability, transcripts from your nursing education must be attached to your application.

If you are a student, you can apply if you are in the nursing program from semester 4 or in the medical program from semester 6. As a person, you are flexible, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. At least one year of experience in emergency medical care or ambulance training is an advantage.

A B driver's license is a requirement, as well as swimming ability of 200 meters and a passing result on the physical test that all applicants must undergo. Read more and watch the film via the link below.

Selection and interviews are ongoing.

Testing days will be conducted: 24/11, 27/11, 11/12, 18/12, 9/1, and 22/1.

The day includes an interview, physical and driving tests. The day will take place in Örebro, Karlskoga, or Lindesberg and will take about 3 hours.

The application should include a CV and a cover letter. Certificates, grades, diplomas, etc., should be submitted at a possible interview.

Start Date: By agreement. Mandatory training days will start as early as spring. Attendance on these days is a requirement for employment. During training days and onboarding sessions, a temporary employment will be offered.

If you are or have previously been employed by Region Örebro County, we will take internal references from your current or previous manager if you are considered for employment.

Background checks from the Police Authority may be conducted according to current legislation.
