About the position

As a care assistant with us at Gustavsvik Home Care, you play an important role in creating safe care for our customers. We operate from centrally located premises in Örebro and travel by car or electric bicycle to our clients. We offer three positions with work during the day, evening, and every other weekend, as well as one position with evening work and every other weekend.

With us, you will be part of an engaged and knowledgeable team where we collaborate with colleagues with different competencies. We work with person-centered care where the customer's needs, wishes, and abilities guide the goals for rehabilitation. In this role, you have a coordinated responsibility for support, service, and care interventions for the customers. You plan, implement, and follow up on the interventions.

Examples of tasks:

  • perform care tasks and, based on delegation, some medication management
  • perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping
  • plan and develop work independently and together with the team
  • establish and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the customer
  • collaborate with relatives and others in the customer's network, such as nurses and occupational therapists
  • document regularly in the organization's documentation system and review existing documentation
  • establish and follow up on implementation plans
  • have knowledge of and follow the organization's applicable laws, policies, and routines

About the workplace

Gustavsvik Home Care operates from premises on Drottninggatan. We mainly work in the areas of Adolfsberg, Mosås, and Marieberg and primarily use cars or electric bicycles to travel to our customers. We have about 30 employees.

The area of care and support is part of the Social Administration. The operations include care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise within the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a care assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet customers in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. Taking responsibility for your tasks is a given for you. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth way. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's needs. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with customers and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operational system, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • proof of protected professional title, or be covered by transitional regulations (permanently employed care assistant as of July 1, 2023)
  • driver's license B
  • ability to cycle

Desirable:

  • experience working in care and support
  • experience working in home care
  • experience working in documentation and operational systems

Scope and start date

Employment type: permanent employment

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: by agreement

Number of positions: 4

Working hours: 3 positions scheduled for day, evening, and every other weekend, 1 position scheduled for evening and every other weekend

Additional information

As of July 1, 2023, the title of care assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a care assistant. While waiting for your proof, it is possible to be employed as a care aide. However, if you had a permanent position as a care assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
