Project Manager and Mathematics Developer

The position is centrally located within primary education. The goal of primary education is for all students to reach their best selves. This should be concretized through high goal achievement, safe students, and good decision-making skills. Those of us working in schools must support all students' learning, development, and well-being, and part of the goals is to work to ensure that students are well-prepared for studies after primary school as well as for working life.

The role involves a combined assignment where you work 50% as a project manager for the Science and Challenge project and 50% as a mathematics developer within primary education.

Job Responsibilities

Project Manager:

The Science and Challenge project is a strategic development initiative in collaboration with 2047 Science Center. The project is conducted across all school forms but focuses primarily on primary education. The focus area is mainly development work in mathematics, but also in natural sciences and technology. The purpose of the project is to develop a more interesting and stimulating teaching that is both challenging and at the forefront. The project is expected to contribute to increased curiosity and motivation for studying mathematics and natural science subjects. As a project manager, you will lead the work in close collaboration with 2047 Science Center. You will follow up on efforts, be responsible for related documentation and timelines, and serve as an inspirer in the operations.

Mathematics Developer:

As a mathematics developer, you will lead the development work in mathematics within primary education, in close collaboration with principals and teachers. You will actively work to improve the quality of teaching based on current research and proven methods in mathematics didactics. You will follow up, analyze, and translate results into concrete improvement initiatives in close dialogue with teachers. A significant part of the assignment involves working closely with operations, for example through lesson observations where you are expected to support teachers in developing their teaching and daring to try new working methods. You will partly work closely with the primary school's management team, but primarily together with teachers in the classroom where you will have reflective conversations about mathematics teaching and learning.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• You are a certified teacher, and it may also be interesting if you have other education that the employer assesses as equivalent/relevant for the position
• Several years of experience working as a teacher with a focus on mathematics
• A strong commitment to school development issues and a particular interest in mathematics teaching
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing
• Driver's license B

Finally, it is important that you are comfortable holding presentations and conducting them in a clear and structured manner.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience and/or education in project management
• Experience in leadership roles within schools, such as lead teacher roles
• Experience collaborating with others
• Experience as a mentor for student teachers related to teacher education

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed upon.
