About the Company

Kalmar Stadsmission is a non-profit organization. It was founded in 1998 when the church council of Kalmar parish, Swedish Church, adopted the statutes that describe the purpose:

• to be a voice for vulnerable groups and through advocacy change what in society creates and reinforces vulnerability.
• as an independent professional idea-driven actor contribute to diversity through competent evidence-based work in care and social work.
• offer a quiet conversation about faith and existential questions for those who seek it.
• encourage and channel human engagement.
• work to prevent substance abuse among youth.

It is about, from a Christian view of humanity, trying to sustainably and as effectively as possible alleviate need and challenge change for people in vulnerable life situations. In all our activities and by offering the quiet conversation about faith and existential questions, we want people to be able to see their situation in a new light and get help to find solutions to meaning and context in life.

By being a voice for vulnerable groups and through advocacy, we want to change what in society creates and reinforces vulnerability. We are a professional idea-driven actor who, through our work, wants to contribute to diversity through competent, evidence-based work in care and social work in Kalmar and surrounding areas.

The association has the following members: Kalmar Parish, Kalmar Cathedral Congregation, Kalmar S:t Johannes Congregation, Holy Cross Congregation, S:t Birgitta Congregation, Two Sisters Congregation, and Southern Öland Parish.

In the Swedish Church, there is a long tradition of working with need and vulnerability, the word Diakoni is used for this. Kalmar Stadsmission was created as a relief and resource for the various congregations' diaconal work, to meet the increasing needs of people in vulnerability.

Job Description

As a Funding and Development Coordinator, you are a key person who makes our ideas possible to realize. You create the financial conditions for projects that make a difference, which means you are responsible for managing, monitoring, and following up applications to foundations, funds, and other grant providers. You are the one who holds the whole together – from identifying funding opportunities to ensuring that granted funds are used correctly.

Your role, however, extends beyond numbers and application processes. You will be a driving force in the implementation of our new approach to impact measurement, so that we can follow up, evaluate, and further develop our efforts. Through dialogue and collaboration with colleagues and other Stadsmissioner across the country, you contribute to consensus and joint development.

You also serve as an important sounding board on issues related to digitalization and help us take the next step towards a modern and efficient organization. In short – you are helping to shape the future of Kalmar Stadsmission.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of six months. You will be part of the management team and report to the Director.

Qualifications

You are a person who sees opportunities where others see obstacles. We believe you have a post-secondary education in pedagogy, quality, economics, or another relevant area that we assess as equivalent. If you also have experience in project management or work with applications, grants, or funds, that is a big plus.

We are looking for someone who works analytically and carefully and who finds it easy to handle complex information such as regulations and guidelines. You are both humble and action-oriented and have a natural ability to create structure even in more advanced processes.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and solution-oriented. Furthermore, you are creative, innovative, and self-driven while being mindful of collaboration and inclusion. You are motivated by engaging others and working towards common goals.

You are an experienced administrator, comfortable with MS Office, and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. If you have experience with the IT system Stratsys and/or Qlicksense, this is highly meritorious.

You also have an interest in digitalization and see how new technology can contribute to developing our work. Above all, you are driven by social benefit and the desire to make a difference.
