The Culture and Community Development Department has a broad operational area, with many important functions in the municipality, including planning, building permits, GIS mapping and measurement, land and exploitation, growth, project management, environmental strategy, libraries, cultural schools, community life, events, cleaning, and outdoor environments.
We are now in need of a temporary urban planner for the office. The position is a temporary replacement for parental leave. We are looking for an employee who enjoys a variety of tasks and is unpretentious and flexible in their working style. The goal is to deliver good quality and service to the residents of the municipality and to be an attractive employer and a health-promoting organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Örkelljunga Municipality places great importance on ensuring that municipal planning strengthens sustainable community development. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the future of the municipality and who wants to join our organization to continue the work of developing Örkelljunga Municipality's good living environment.
The assignments cover a wide range of knowledge areas, and you are a key person for the Culture and Community Development Committee's authority under the Planning and Building Act and related legislation. Your tasks are those commonly found within the planning function, such as comprehensive planning and detailed planning work. Currently, the emphasis is on detailed plans. Some detailed plans are advanced with consultants, and it will be your task to procure and project manage the planning work. Most detailed plans you will prepare yourself and be responsible for the assignment from idea to approval of the plan, including administration. You will have regular check-ins with colleagues, management, and politics to ensure that plans are developed according to priority.
In your daily work, you will have a lot of contact and dialogue with the public and authorities. You will provide advice to the public and can clearly explain the meaning of planning regulations and legislation and provide service in the form of advice on everything from cultural environments, color and form, shoreline protection, etc., to assist applicants. You will handle various referrals within the area of work.
Your role includes close collaboration with officials within your own and other departments in the municipality.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, or equivalent. Previous experience in municipal planning is an advantage but not a requirement. You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and other legislation relevant to the work area. You can independently manage detailed planning processes. As a person, you are goal-oriented and results-driven. Great emphasis will be placed on your ability to collaborate. You are good at expressing yourself verbally and in writing and have strong computer skills. A driver's license is required for the position.
Experience with Geosecma for ArcGIS (you will be developing plans in this environment) and the Adobe suite is also an advantage.
