About the project Gatulabba 2.0

We are now looking for a landscape architect at 50% for our new project Gatulabba 2.0, which runs from March to December 2026. Växtvärket has been granted funding from the General Inheritance Fund to further develop and spread Gatulabba's methods.

The project's goal is to implement, spread, educate in, and follow up on Gatulabba's methods within Malmö and in other cities in Sweden. The purpose is to inspire a more sustainable and co-creative urban development and to lower the barriers for involving children and youth in development processes.

By the end of the project:

• Two design processes in collaboration with the municipality and property companies will be completed.
• Gatulabba's method bank at gatulabba.se (http://gatulabba.se) will be developed and updated with professionally documented examples.
• Educational initiatives in child involvement methodology, including training materials, will be developed.
• At least ten educational initiatives for professionals will be carried out.

Job Description

As a landscape architect, you will be responsible for design processes, shaping, visualization, and expression within the project. The design processes are an integral part of the project group's collaborative work.

Together with the project group, you will plan, implement, document, and evaluate workshops and educational initiatives. You will develop educational materials, create surveys, and conduct interviews with participating children and adults. You will further develop Gatulabba's method bank and also perform project administration, such as finance, documentation, and reporting.

About You

You are a landscape architect passionate about children and urban development. You have a strong interest in child involvement methodology, children's rights in urban development, children's living conditions in the city, and youth's influence over their local environment.

You have an inspiring way of engaging children and youth to get involved in their surroundings and its design. You are driven to further educate professionals in methods to involve children in planning and design.

You have:

• Documented experience in pedagogical work with children and youth
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Good skills in design and the production of drawing and visualization materials
• Experience with relevant drawing and visualization programs

As a person, you are creative, driven, and proactive, and you enjoy both independent work and teamwork.

Meritorious: Knowledge of one of Malmö's larger minority languages.

About the Employment

• Salary: By agreement
• Salary Type: Fixed monthly salary
• Scope: 50%

Workplace

The position is based on-site (not remote). The office is located at Augustenborgstorget in Malmö and shared with several colleagues in an open-plan layout. Work in other locations, sometimes with overnight stays, may occur.
