Department 60 at Falu Hospital is a general psychiatric inpatient unit with 14 beds. We have a close and tight collaboration with the ECT unit, where treatments with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are performed. The department also applies user-directed admissions and cares for patients with varying psychiatric diagnoses, according to different care forms and individually tailored care periods. Thanks to our collaboration with somatic care, we receive patients with complex comorbidity - where psychiatric conditions are often combined with somatic care needs. This makes our work environment both varied, educational, and meaningful.

Requirements:

• We are looking for you who are a caregiver with a degree from the Care and Nursing Program, YH education for Caregivers in Psychiatric Operations 400 credits, or equivalent relevant education, alternatively, you are a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Care and Nursing Program or the vocational package Care and Nursing in adult education
• Diploma from the Care and Nursing College

Meritorious:

• Since we care for patients with both psychiatric and somatic needs, we would like you to have good knowledge in somatic care
• Experience in psychiatric care

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in care and nursing.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in care and nursing, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those who are offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new rules came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.

Checks for suspicion and criminal records will be performed.
