Description
Do you want to help create safe and well-functioning bathing areas for the people of Gothenburg?
We are currently looking for a temporary bathing area manager for the Outdoor Environments and Urban Life department in the northern and southern development and management units.
The bathing areas in Gothenburg are important and appreciated environments that play a significant role in the city's quality of life. During the summer months, they are a natural meeting place for both Gothenburg residents and visitors, and during the rest of the year, they are important recreational areas that require planning, care, and long-term work.
As a bathing area manager, you will have a responsibility that is both concrete and close to the operation. You will ensure that the bathing areas are safe, well-maintained, and accessible, and you will work together with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues that require judgment, presence, and good coordination skills. During a period when the regular manager is absent, we are now looking for a replacement who can hold the assignment together and contribute to a safe and stable delivery.
Responsibilities
As a bathing area manager, you will:
- Plan and follow up on maintenance and functionality at the city's bathing areas
- Ensure that safety inspections are handled and that measures are implemented in a timely manner
- Assess the status and needs for maintenance, improvements, and adjustments
- Coordinate contractors and other actors working on-site
- Handle incoming feedback and needs for quick interventions during the season
- Document actions and update materials used in the department's planning
- Participate in dialogues with other units and administrations where bathing areas are concerned
- Contribute to developing accessibility, safety, and quality for bathers and visitors
The work is varied and combines planning, analysis, and follow-up with direct contact with operations and contractors. During the summer, the role is particularly active and requires a good ability to prioritize and act quickly when needs arise.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with outdoor environments, facilities, or other environments where safety and functionality are central
- The ability to assess risks, status, and needs for action
- Experience coordinating contractors or operational resources
- The ability to work in a planned, independent, and structured manner
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor
- The ability to manage documentation and follow-up carefully
Meritorious
It is an advantage if you have:
- Knowledge of bathing area safety, aquatic environments, or outdoor environments
- Experience in park or nature management
- Experience working in municipal or public operations
- Familiarity with working with maps or other location-related documentation
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is secure, responsible, and solution-oriented. You can make well-balanced decisions, even in situations where many expectations need to be managed simultaneously. You find it easy to collaborate, communicate clearly, and enjoy working closely with the operations and the environments you are responsible for.
Conditions
You will have the opportunity to work in some of Gothenburg's most visited and appreciated environments, and you will be part of an engaged team that together takes responsibility for the city's living environments. The role provides ample opportunity to work closely with both nature, people, and tangible results. As a bathing area manager, you make a difference – every day, all summer, and for the whole city.
