Job Advertisement: Educational Staff for the Sámi School Board

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi School is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing instruction from preschool to grade 6. The teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work in the school and after-school care. You have the ability to see all students and consider their individual circumstances. You contribute to their learning during school hours and leisure time. You can observe and utilize the interactions within the group to develop students' ability to communicate, as well as listen to, interpret, and understand others' viewpoints and ways of expressing themselves. You enjoy building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Together with other colleagues in the work team, you will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and follow-up/evaluation of the activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply should have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or other education deemed suitable by the employer. Experience working with students with special needs is an advantage. You have patience, problem-solving skills, and are positive and creative. You are good at seeing opportunities. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships. You are meticulous, flexible, and attentive to students' needs and enjoy working with children and youth. Since we work in a Sámi environment, it is important to have knowledge of and be well acquainted with the Sámi language and culture. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills.
