Your tasks
We are now looking for you who are ready for your next challenge, to work with young dementia. Welcome to us at Trollflöjten!

Here at Trollflöjten, individuals under 65 years old with dementia live, which makes you and your colleagues an important piece in creating a meaningful everyday life. The work as a nursing assistant/care assistant with us means meeting the individual’s needs. Being affected by young dementia is transformative, both for the affected and for relatives. Behavior changes, and the person may start to act aggressively or experience hallucinations. In your work, you will address their anxiety. Threats and violent situations may occur.

As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you will therefore work to create opportunities for social interaction and participate in various activities. The position also includes care tasks, which include assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. At Trollflöjten, we work based on IBIC (individual needs in focus) and with the individual’s best interests in mind. Walks and other health-promoting initiatives are an important part of our working method. Our work is also characterized by a salutogenic approach, which means focusing on what is healthy and bringing out the person's own abilities.

In the position, you will also have the opportunity for development in your role, as you will be assigned a contact responsibility for several individuals. This means that you participate in welcome conversations where you, together with the individual, plan support measures. You are responsible for the implementation plan and document in the Treserva system.

Your workplace
Trollflöjten is a care home aimed at individuals under 65 years old with dementia. The residence is centrally located near the city library, Kungsträdgården, and the Concert and Congress Center. The building consists of a total of three floors, with Trollflöjten's apartments located on the first and second floors. Each floor has nine apartments with shared spaces such as a kitchen and living room.

The staff at Trollflöjten work to find solutions for each individual and their life situation. The workgroup currently consists of 26 employees with various professions such as nursing assistants, specialist nursing assistants, and Silvia nurses. We care for each other and want everyone to thrive with us. It is natural for us to be welcoming, helpful, flexible, and collaborate with each other; we want a pleasant climate. Activities with our elderly are an important aspect of everyday life, and our central location often contributes to cultural elements in the activities. We organize excursions, museum visits, parties with dancing and good food, as well as group gymnastics. In addition, we work with Senior Alert and the BPSD quality register.

With us, working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We are currently participating in a scheduling pilot running until the end of the year, where we can influence/how we want the working hours to be scheduled.

Who you are
We are primarily looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare and has experience with dementia. You who have a completed upper secondary education combined with dementia experience are also welcome to apply. Desirable for the position is experience and/or knowledge of psychiatry and having worked with younger individuals with dementia. It is also desirable if you have knowledge/experience of the IBIC working method, a salutogenic approach, and low-arousal responses, as outwardly aggressive behavior may occur. A driving license for manual transmission is a plus, as we sometimes use a minibus for excursions.

Work in elderly care involves many customer contacts and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools, and it is a requirement to have previous experience documenting in journal systems.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations. You also have the ability to take initiative and start activities.
