About the workplace
The Police are facing a generational shift in communication as we transition from Rakel to Rakel generation 2. The new system offers entirely new opportunities for data flows, collaboration, and secure communication between community stakeholders. To ensure the highest quality in these solutions, we are now looking for a senior tester who wants to contribute to the development of mission-critical applications and services in the new mobile environment.
You will work within the Mobile Systems Development section of the IT department, which consists of three groups responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining mobile apps and associated backend services and systems. The position is located in modern premises in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, with the possibility of remote work up to two days a week.

Job Description
As a senior tester with us, you will work in a cross-functional team alongside developers and architects with high technical competence. You will play a central role in establishing test strategies, test environments, and testing processes for the systems and applications that will be used in the new Rakel G2 platform.
You will contribute to ensuring robustness, security, and performance in solutions used around the clock in critical community situations. The work spans both manual and automated testing – from functional and integration testing to performance and security testing.
A typical workday may include:
- Developing test strategies and test plans for new and existing systems.
- Creating, maintaining, and executing test cases for new and existing systems.
- Performing both manual and automated testing in complex environments.
- Identifying, documenting, and following up on defects and deviations.
- Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure quality at all levels.
- Contributing to test automation and continuous integration (CI/CD).
- Actively participating in process, tool, and testing method improvements.
- In some areas – participating in field practice with police officers in active duty to better understand user needs and scenarios.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- relevant academic education in IT or equivalent acquired experience, which the employer assesses as equivalent
- at least 5 years of current and relevant professional experience in system or application testing
- good knowledge of testing mobile applications in complex, integrated environments (Android) – preferably with high security and availability requirements
- good knowledge of test automation including unit tests and UI tests as well as CI/CD flows
- good knowledge of working according to agile methods
- very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing as well as good knowledge of English
- Swedish citizenship
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you also have:
- experience using Kotlin in testing work
- experience working with protocols for communication systems
- experience in performance, load, or security testing
- experience testing hardware-near systems, streaming, audio, or radio communication
- experience building test environments or implementing test automation in an organization
- experience with certificates, PKI, or authentication
- experience testing mobile applications for iOS
