The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Description

The Medical area at Kungälv Hospital includes the specialties of cardiology, diabetology, gastroenterology, hematology, and internal medicine.

In the operation, there are three care departments, outpatient clinics, and medical day care.

Ward 8 is a specialist medicine ward focused on intermediate care (IMA), hematology, gastroenterology, arrhythmias, and endocrinology/diabetes. The ward has specialist competence and advanced technology to care for patients who need medical acute care.

In the medical day care, we take care of patients with hematological and gastroenterological diagnoses.

We are now looking for a nurse who wants to be part of our fantastic team both in ward 8 and in medical day care. We want to enhance collaboration between our units and see great opportunities for nurses to share their time between the care ward and day care.

Responsibilities

In the medical day care, you will work with our patients with hematological diagnoses. The work includes investigations, chemotherapy treatments, transfusions, sample collections, telephone counseling, and more. We have close patient contact.

In ward 8, we work with person-centered care, which means that all professions – nurses, nursing assistants, paramedics, and doctors – work in a joint team together with the patient. Each team is responsible for seven patients. Ward 8 has a strong focus on learning and development.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse. We prefer that you have a few years of experience and feel secure in your professional role. If you have previously worked in the medical field and have experience in hematology, that is an advantage. You have the ability to drive and improve the operation together with your colleagues, which makes independence and a willingness to develop positive traits! Personal suitability is highly valued.

Conditions

Your employment will be a permanent position in ward 8. The combined part of the position refers to a fixed-term period, and you will be scheduled 50/50 between ward 8 and day care. The extent of the combined part is one year but may be extended. Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period.
