About the position

We are looking for a Python developer who wants to help develop future solutions within a critical operational area with great societal benefit. You will be part of a unit that develops software applications that support Svenska kraftnät's mission to regulate the power balance and maintain 50 Hz in the Nordic power system. To succeed in our mission, we work closely with the business and translate needs from the idea stage to operational solutions.

The unit works with forecasting in the area. In addition to new development and further development, we are responsible for third-line support and contribute to good management, troubleshooting, and bug fixes. Quality is crucial as the systems place high demands on availability, IT security, and integration with market actors.

We work according to agile principles in virtual teams across divisional boundaries, which gives you the opportunity to collaborate with experts in both IT and energy systems.

About you

Required qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is analytical and structured, with the ability to see the big picture while managing details. You enjoy solving complex problems and are solution-oriented when challenges arise. Furthermore, you have a degree in IT from a university or college, or equivalent education and work experience that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent. You also have:

• Several years of work experience in Python development.
• Practical experience with queue management (e.g., via Kafka, AMQ, or similar).
• Experience working with DevOps, pipelines, and CI/CD.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Good knowledge and practical experience of Kubernetes, Open Shift, or other container-based technology.
• Practical work experience with Kafka.
