We are looking for a PhD candidate for our doctoral education in nursing science in the area of Humans in the Welfare Society
Research in nursing science aims to understand, explain, and theorize questions that arise in connection with health, illness, and disease, as well as their significance for individuals, groups, and society.
Our focus is on health and well-being in various caring contexts throughout the different phases of life, for people of all ages. Central perspectives include the healthcare system's ability to support individuals and their relatives from the beginning of life to the end. The doctoral education subject integrates theoretical and ethical perspectives with practical application to address issues related to illness and disease. The goal is to promote health and well-being with respect for the equal value of all individuals, regardless of their characteristics and background. The aim of nursing science research is to generate new knowledge, develop methods and theories within the field, and contribute to evidence-based and experience-based practice.
The doctoral education is affiliated with the Department of Nursing Science, and the current call is directed towards a project aimed at developing and testing a model for women with comorbidity residing in sheltered housing. The model combines education and support to strengthen participants' self-understanding, security, and community. Through a co-creative process, grounded in principles of trauma-informed care, self-determination, respect, and trust are emphasized, and it includes both learning and art-based activities focusing on health, boundary-setting, and empowerment to promote long-term well-being.
