1177 on the phone, Region Gotland, offers medical advice for everyone who is on Gotland.

On certain days, we also assist Region Dalarna, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Västmanland. We are located in our own premises, centrally in Visby.

For the past three years, our operations have also included the 1177 direct service. This service allows residents to use chat in their contact with healthcare. We see this service as a positive alternative for those seeking care. Our operations encompass the central unit for Region Gotland, which means close collaboration with other parts of Gotland's primary care.

Your responsibilities

1177 on the phone is a national service available in all regions of Sweden. The mission is to make a medical assessment, prioritize, and refer to the right level of care, as well as provide self-care advice based on a quality-assured methodology. The phone is your most important tool.

During a work shift, you will handle many different cases and people of all ages with various types of physical and mental symptoms.

To ensure quality in our work, regular self-review and analysis are conducted using nationally developed routines, so that we can focus on providing good and safe care.

You work independently but have a colleague, which means you can support each other when needed. The temporary position begins with an introduction based on the needs we identify together.

You will work every other weekend and with shifts: morning, day, and evening.

Who are you?

You must be a licensed nurse, and it is an advantage if you also have a specialist education.

You need to have at least five years of work experience as a nurse to work with us. It is a merit if you have previously worked with medical telephone advice. You should be able to communicate in Swedish and English.

Since we are a small unit, it is important that you have good collaboration skills and self-awareness as we constantly strive to improve our service to citizens. The work requires you to have very good communication and pedagogical skills and to be able to adapt your advice to the recipient. To succeed in the role, you must also have the ability to be flexible as each call and patient is unique.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
