School Psychologist for Preschool and Primary School Administration

We are now looking for another psychologist to join our team within the preschool and primary school administration. The school psychologists in Varberg Municipality are centrally employed by the administration and belong to a common working group consisting of 7 school psychologists, a school psychologist with management responsibility, special educators, school speech therapists, school doctors, a medically responsible school nurse, and the principal of the resource school under the leadership of the head of child and student health.

As an employee in the preschool and primary school administration, you will receive continuous professional development initiatives. The content and form of the professional development initiatives are based on the child and education administration's operational plan and identified needs that have emerged in the systematic quality work. This way, we create equality, sustainability, and long-term commitment as we work towards the prioritized goals and directions set out in the governing documents.

You will also be offered regular supervision together with other school psychologists in the working group, and there are good opportunities for further education based on identified needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school psychologist within the preschool and primary school administration, you primarily work preventively and health-promoting, both broadly based on the central child and student health mission and locally together with the schools' student health teams.

Your main task is to be active in the schools' student health work through consultation, supervision, conducting training, and assessments. Part of the school psychologist's work is to contribute psychological perspectives on learning, promoting learning environments, and equitable education at the organizational, group, and individual levels. The school psychologist's mission is primarily directed towards staff and learning environments.

Collaboration with other actors around children and students, such as habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, youth mental health, and social services, is seen as a natural part of your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have experience working with children.

In your role as a school psychologist, we expect you to possess high social competence, good ability to collaborate, and good ability to work independently. An inclusive view of children and students characterizes your work and approach. You support the staff of preschool and primary school, value their engagement, and have the courage to challenge for development.

Experience in consultation, supervision, and assessments is an advantage.

Since the work involves travel between different units, you need to have a driver's license.
