We are looking for an engaged and empathetic nurse for our palliative general care department.

About the Workplace

The palliative general care department in Falkenberg has eight care places. Our mission is to offer general palliative care, individually tailored and with the highest quality. The care department is available for residents of Halland in a palliative stage, regardless of diagnosis. We care for patients who are at the end of life, but also patients who need symptom relief and respite for a shorter period. We are a care department in constant development and have expanded our staffing with a social worker in the workgroup for 2025. Our doctors on site are employed in PKT (Palliative Consultation Team in Halland), and we also have access to occupational therapists and physiotherapists from Falkenberg VC. The care department is located close to nature, along the river Ätran, and it is possible for our bedridden patients to be outdoors.

We offer a permanent position and a parental leave substitute, both for night shifts. The substitute lasts until 2026-10-01 with a possible extension.

About the Position

The work as a nurse with us involves caring for patients in a palliative stage as well as supportive conversations with care recipients. An important part of our work is also to be a support for relatives. The assignment includes administering medications and performing medical treatments as well as documenting and following up. We work in a team of nurses and nursing assistants together with doctors and social workers. We also have close cooperation with hospitals in Halland.

We offer a substitute that extends to 2026-08-31.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in palliative care. Specialist training in palliative care is an advantage.

You are a stable person with empathetic ability. You have the ability to work flexibly and enjoy working in a team as well as collaborating with other professionals.

You have basic computer skills. Previous experience with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage. Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing is a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
