The area of child, youth, and family health is a cross-county operation that today consists of over 200 employees and includes services at midwifery clinics, child health centers, youth clinics, the first line for youth, family centers, child and family support, and the speech therapy unit.

Together, we provide health care to the target groups of the operation with a focus on preventive health care.

The First Line for Youth

The First Line for Youth is a collaboration between Region Värmland and the municipalities of the county and consists of several outpatient clinics at the primary care level in the county. The First Line for Youth receives children and adolescents aged 6–20 years with mild to moderate mental health issues, as well as their relatives.

We have a team of solution-focused practitioners with various competencies and experiences; psychologists, social workers, and administrative staff. In addition to visits to the clinic, we also offer telephone counseling.

As one of our psychologists is leaving, we are looking for a replacement.

Your Responsibilities

Our main mission is to provide services to children and adolescents aged 6-20 years with mild to moderate mental health issues, where the interventions are based on a holistic view of the young person's life situation.

As a psychologist, you will work with assessments, psychoeducation, and treatment in groups or individually. In addition to individual interventions, it is also part of the job to actively work to enable cohesive support in cases where schools, social services, and the First Line for Youth need to collaborate. The work is carried out independently, and supervision is included as support in the work.

Your Skills and Competencies

You are a licensed psychologist with a strong interest in and experience of mental health issues among children and adolescents. The work requires a good ability to assess mental health issues and, based on that, plan and initiate the right support, coordination, and psychological treatment.

We see that you have experience of independent work within health care and are accustomed to analyzing, documenting, and clearly conveying descriptions of psychological conditions in both speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on your ability to take independent responsibility in your work as well as your ability to collaborate. In addition to your psychological competence, we want you to be self-assured and contribute to a positive work atmosphere while taking responsibility for both patients and colleagues.
