The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. About 900 people work in the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to participate in the effort to make Gothenburg a clean and green city? At the Urban Environment Administration, under the Operations and Maintenance department, you will help take care of beautiful outdoor environments that both Gothenburg residents and visitors can enjoy.

Our Green business area works with the maintenance and care of the city's parks, playgrounds, street trees, green areas, etc. We also manage outdoor environments at schools, special housing, and cultural properties.

As a park worker with us, you will work in one of our four operational areas distributed geographically across Gothenburg, and you will perform regular tasks related to the care and maintenance of the city's plantings, trees, playgrounds, and green areas. Some examples of tasks include hedge trimming, weeding, and sandbox raking, as well as watering, pruning, and planting. We also perform mowing of smaller meadow areas and work to combat invasive species. Would you like to participate in this fantastic work as a seasonal park worker with us?

We are now looking for seasonal employees for our work teams in the City Center, West, East, and Hisingen.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a green education, such as a high school education supplemented with a one-year gardening education, horticultural high school, or relevant work experience that can be deemed equivalent. You should have good teamwork skills but also the ability to independently take responsibility for the execution of tasks. You should have basic computer skills and be able to handle email and time reporting systems on computers and phones. It is also advantageous if you have a chainsaw license AB, training for brush cutters, and work on road 1.

A B driver's license is required (license for manual transmission vehicles). We prefer that you have good driving experience as you will use the car as a tool in your work.

You should have good teamwork skills but also the ability to independently take responsibility for the execution of tasks. You are a person who can see both the big picture and the details in the work.
