JOB DESCRIPTION

As a park worker, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues. The tasks are very varied and largely determined by the seasons. In the summer season, tasks include lawn mowing, weeding, planting, pruning trees and shrubs, clearing urban nature, tree felling, as well as maintenance and cleaning of swimming areas, playgrounds, and public spaces.

The focus of this position will be to ensure that the municipality's grass areas are mowed and trimmed, as well as weeding. However, other tasks may also be added depending on your background, education, and interests.

You will be responsible for keeping most of the municipality's green areas well-mowed according to what has been decided, as well as maintaining the machines. You should be comfortable reading maps to navigate to all the areas that need to be mowed and trimmed. The total area of the surfaces is approximately 180,000 m2 and is located in the central part of Bollebygd and in Töllsjö.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• Completed upper secondary education (high school diploma)
• Driving license B

Meritorious:

• Supplementary education in the green sector, such as upper secondary education with an additional one-year gardening education, gardening high school, or work experience that the employer can assess as equivalent
• Driving license B with extended authorization (B96) and/or BE license
• Good technical skills and experience with machinery

In the role of park worker, it is necessary to have technical skills and experience with machinery, as well as being flexible, proactive, responsible, meticulous, and having good organizational skills. The work is physically demanding at times. In addition to education, it is important that you are interested in park maintenance. As a park worker, you often work closely with the municipality's residents and influence their everyday environment. Therefore, we place great importance on social competence towards the public, within the organization, and in other contacts to provide good service and a professional approach.
