About Us

The Forensic Psychiatry Unit has 33 beds for individuals sentenced under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act. On the wards, psychiatric nurses, registered nurses, care assistants, and treatment pedagogues work together. The unit also includes a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, workshop foremen, recreational leaders, and secretaries, as well as a discharge team consisting of psychiatric nurses and care assistants.

The Forensic Psychiatry unit moved into newly built premises in 2012, designed to provide a good, healing care environment for patients, as well as a pleasant working environment for staff.

Job Responsibilities

As a care assistant with us, you will work with forensic psychiatric care in collaboration with contact persons and other team members. You will work closely with patients and be involved in their daily lives. You will help and support in various situations, both practically and in conversations.

As a care assistant, you will work with psychiatric care close to the patient. In forensic psychiatry, you will meet patients suffering from various types of mental health issues. Your daily work includes conversations, care, and documentation.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is educated or a student as follows:

• care assistant in health and care, or you will complete your education by June 2026
• nursing student who has completed at least three semesters of the nursing program and has completed hospital practice by June 2026
• medical student who has completed at least six semesters of the medical program by June 2026

A summer temporary position with us requires you to be responsible, have a good ability to collaborate with all professional categories, and have a pleasant demeanor towards patients and their relatives. To provide our patients with good and safe care, it is important that you understand and can communicate in Swedish. You are flexible, stable, and self-driven. You also find it easy to collaborate and are guided by ethics and values in critical situations at work.

We place great importance on personal suitability, and you should have an interest in working with forensic psychiatric patients and their specific needs.

When working in psychiatry, we conduct background checks from the suspicion and criminal records register; this request is managed by the employer.
