Your workplace

The Surgical Clinic at the Central Hospital in Karlstad offers a wide range of care services, including inpatient departments, surgical outpatient clinics, urology clinics, vascular surgery, breast center, and endoscopy unit.

The colorectal surgical section provides highly specialized care in both benign and malignant colorectal surgery. As part of the position, rotation in emergency and trauma services may occur. There are also good opportunities to work at the endoscopy unit. The work is characterized by a sense of teamwork, high competence, and a strong focus on quality and learning.

Your tasks

You will work with outpatient care, surgery, rounds, on-call duties, and occasional weeks of rotation in emergency and trauma services. We operate using all modalities, including open surgery, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. The position also includes participation in quality and development work. The workgroup consists of eight senior physicians and one specialist, with extensive experience in colorectal surgery. The group is characterized by good collaboration and high professional skill.

Your knowledge and skills

We are looking for an experienced surgeon with colorectal expertise, good collaboration skills, and an interest in education. We are looking for you who is a specialist physician in surgery with subspecialization in colorectal surgery. Knowledge in robotic surgery is an advantage. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as collaboration skills, commitment, and a positive and solution-oriented attitude. You have the ability to make decisions and know how to structure your tasks independently. Additionally, you are well updated in your field and can contribute your expertise to colleagues. A strong interest and commitment to the education of younger colleagues is also advantageous.
