Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the development of experimental methods for two-phase flows.
We aim to develop a probe for measuring void fraction and velocity under prototypical reactor conditions. The work involves developing methods to manufacture miniature sensors and using these sensors in the HWAT facility. The HWAT facility was developed to study thermohydraulic phenomena relevant to small modular reactors (SMR). This work is part of a collaborative project in Europe and a national project supported by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM).
Qualifications
Requirements
- PhD degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made.
- PhD in experimental nuclear engineering, micromechanics, sol-gel chemistry, experimental thermohydraulics.
Desirable
- At the time of application, no more than three years since obtaining the PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience in experimental investigation of two-phase flows, sol-gel coating, micromechanical manufacturing, high-frequency signal processing.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in teams and independently.
- Motivation and commitment to research work is a very strong merit.
- Experience in teaching is an advantage.
- Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.
