About the Workplace

This role is a shared position between the Planning and Development Department and the Water and Sewage Unit in Håbo Municipality.

You will be placed in the Water and Sewage Unit.

The Water and Sewage Unit in Håbo Municipality manages the municipality's water and sewage treatment plants along with associated pumping and pressure boosting stations. Our fundamental task is the production of drinking water, treatment of wastewater, and distribution of water and sewage.

Your Responsibilities

The role combines strategic work with water management and long-term planning for the public water and sewage facilities. You will lead the development and follow-up of strategic documents, drive development work, and ensure that the municipality's water issues are handled in accordance with legislation, environmental goals, and the municipality's overall vision.

In the Planning and Development Department, you will work with overarching water management in the municipality's planning processes, including environmental quality standards and water directives. Analyze and integrate water aspects into comprehensive and detailed plans. Provide advice to community building, environment, and development in water-related issues. Initiate and follow up on measures for stormwater management and climate adaptation. Monitor national and regional steering documents, environmental goals, and climate-related risks.

In the Water and Sewage Unit, you will be responsible for strategic and planning issues for the public water and sewage facilities and operations. Lead the development, implementation, and follow-up of the water services plan. Create progress and carry out action follow-up of the municipality's water services plan. Prepare decision-making materials and respond to internal and external referrals.

In both roles, it is essential to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with current and upcoming legislation (LAV, PBL, Environmental Code).

Mandatory Qualifications:

University degree in a relevant field (environmental science, hydrology, urban planning, water technology) or equivalent experience.
Experience in strategic work within water management and water planning.
Good knowledge of:

The Act on Public Water Services (LAV).
The Planning and Building Act (PBL).
The Environmental Code and Water Management Ordinance.
Understanding of the distinction between public water supply and other water planning.
Ability to lead processes and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with stormwater strategies, climate adaptation, and ecosystem services.
Knowledge of GIS and hydrological models.
Experience in project management and procurement.
Good communication skills in both spoken and written form.
