Storsjöskolan is a school for grades 4-9 located in Holmsund, 15 km outside Umeå.

Holmsund is situated in the archipelago with many beautiful scenic environments and excursion destinations. We are a growing community, and the number of students increases every year. At Storsjöskolan, there are many knowledgeable and dedicated educators who work for our students' goal fulfillment. We are now looking for an elementary school teacher for grades 4-6!

Employment Information

The position is a permanent, full-time employment, starting as soon as possible by agreement.

Job Responsibilities

In this position, you will be a mentor as well as teach grades 4-6 in mathematics, natural science, technology, and English. Possibly, an additional subject may be included.

Your task as a teacher in elementary school is to plan and implement teaching based on the curriculum, but also to make a more comprehensive planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching, as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' goal fulfillment. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's knowledge development.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents and can follow decisions and processes. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Requirements

• Teaching certification and eligibility to teach grades 4-6 in mathematics, natural science, technology, and English
• Experience working as a mentor
• Valid extract from the criminal record
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
